The Auckland Malaysian Society Inc was established
in August 1991 by a group of concerned individuals to foster solidarity,
goodwill and maintain the cultural diversity, which Malaysia offers
from its mixed ethnic people. It was also set up to assist and
assimilate new Malaysian migrants into the New Zealand culture.
We have contributed to various charities in New Zealand as part
of our contribution to the New Zealand society. Our members are
predominantly Malaysians but we do have a number of non-Malaysian
members as well. We celebrate the main festivals of Chinese New
Year, Deepavali (Indian), Hari Raya (Muslim), Christmas (Christian)
and Merdeka Day (Independence Day).
